Influence is an interesting thing. Â It has been said that every person looks up to someone and has someone looking up to them. Â That even when you think no one is looking to you, someone is. Â I know that I wouldn’t be where I am today if it weren’t for a great number of people that have impacted my life in some form or another. Â Some of those impactors were deeply involved in my life and others I just watched from a distance, yet gained so much.
It turns out that there is quite a community of people that relate and learn from one another at a distance everyday in what we call the Blog World. Â Up until about a year and a half ago I had never even read a blog. Â My friend got me started on a few after the birth of my son, in a time when I was looking to learn and connect with others in the same place I was. Â I quickly found out that there was an entire other world full of communities of people that connected around specific topics – parenting, books, outdoors, sports, gardening, you name it and there is a blog for it. Â Over time, I came across numerous blogs that I have read, but there are few that I have related to and connected with and therefore started following daily. On my journey towards health, these blogs have impacted and encouraged me immeasurably.
Allow me to share my five favorite health and fitness blogs with you. Â I personally asked each blogger to briefly share why health and fitness are important to them, so you will find them quoted in italics.
HLD is inspired by Matt Garland, who passionately believes that a remarkable and unorthodox living propelled by an amazing healthy lifestyle, is possible. Â This is his space to aspire to make the world a healthier, happier place. Â Matt believes that being healthy is both an art and a science, and his blog shares how to practically have the vibrant life you’ve been looking for. Â I personally love how Matt provides solid information, and yet always comes across as real and approachable. Â His words inspire and challenge me to go after the life that I want to have, and I know that you will gain just as much from his wisdom and experience as I do. Matt says, “Fearless Health (as I call it) is undeniably one of the few ways to maximize the human experience. It’s both a vibrant life force for the present as well as a gateway to a healthier, happier future. It begins with a mindset for greatness and the courage to live your healthy life on your own terms. For passionate healthy lifestyle crusaders, greatness is the only option because nothing less will do.”
